14 kilometers was a little too short so yesterday I took a detour while walking to my job. First I walked a dirt road and then carried off on to forest paths. On my way I passed seven lakes in a wooded landscape. Suddenly I noticed that I had a big smile on my lips. My whole being was filled of happiness. It was as if my body said to me: “This is what you should do! Don’t bother about work or organizing workshops. Go out into the woods, look at the trees and lakes and listen to the birds. ”
It was a reminder of something I already know, but I don’t put so much conscious attention to in my everyday life. A few years ago I read the book The How of Happiness by Sonja Lyubomirsky. When I did the test to find out my happiness strategies my number one turned out to be taking care of the body. And when I look back on my gratitude exercise the last years the absolute majority of gratitude towards my own actions are connected to physical exercise.
I am extremely happy that I have taken the initiative for my upcoming adventure. For several months I get the chance to devote myself to what makes me most happy. It is also very fun that I have the chance to share this with others. And that others get the opportunity to contribute to me during my journey through Europe.
